After Gura Gear acquired Tamrac in 2014, they released the “G-Elite” series of backpacks in late 2015 that was a bit of a callback to the work that Gura Gear was known for but under the Tamrac brand. Now, Tamrac is returning to the Gura Gear naming for their “Kiboko 2.0” release next month.
While the G-Elite backpacks were a bit of a hybrid between the brands, the Kiboko 2.0 appears to be the true successor to the popular Mark I release from Gura Gear all those years ago. The new 2.0 version has a black exterior and will be available in three sizes: 16 liters, 22 liters, and 30 liters. Pricing for each bag is set at $269.95, $329.95, and $399.95 respectively.
Upgrades from the first version include a new sailcloth exterior fabric for durable weather resistance and new waterproof zippers with an easier pull. You can read a full summary of details on the B&H Explora blog.
The Gura Gear Kiboko 2.0 camera backpacks are expected to ship in November 2018 with B&H Photo taking preorders now.
