While not shipping until the close of the year on December 26, 2018, the Irix 150mm f/2.8 Macro nonetheless is now available for preordering through B&H Photo.
This new manual focus macro lens offers a 1:1 magnification ratio with a minimum focusing distance of 1.1 feet. The outer construction of the weather-sealed lens is a mix of metal and plastic to control weight, while the inside chassis is full metal. There are both depth of field and focus distance scales labeled on the barrel, and a handy focus lock ring to control unwanted shifting. The tripod collar incorporates an Arca Swiss style foot for direct compatibility with many tripod heads. Inside, the macro lens has 12 elements in 9 groups, and utilizes 11 aperture blades.
